Editorial policy

Accuracy before feature breadth.

Effective September 20, 2026. We publish financial calculator content only when we can state the rule, effective date, assumptions, exclusions, and source clearly.

Source standard

We prefer primary Canadian authorities: CRA, Finance Canada, OSFI, CMHC, provincial governments, land-title registries, and municipal authorities. Secondary sources are not used as the sole support for a financial rule.

Review standard

Every rule records jurisdiction, tax year, effective and expiry dates, source URL, manual-verification date, and reviewer role. Formula and source interpretation receive an independent second review before a rule is marked published. Pending review is disclosed.

Corrections

When a credible issue is found, we investigate it against the primary source, update or disable the affected feature, and record the change in the update history. We do not claim 100% or 1000% accuracy.
